Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library meet on the first Thursday of the month, at 5:45 pm, from September through June. We raise money through sales of donated books and other projects.

Our primary mission is to provide the children’s summer reading programs. This includes purchasing books and prizes, and payments for speakers and entertainers during the summer. These programs have grown each year, involving more than four hundred girls and boys. We also sponsor an adult reading program during the winter and try to help the library with purchases which may not fit into the budget.

Our long term (and sort of secret!) goal is an addition to the library which would provide a computer lab and a separate children’s library. To that end we have established a special fund which we add to whenever possible. Shh! We have $10,000! Can you believe that? And there are only 13 of us! Think what we could do with YOUR help!

New members are always welcome and needed. There are no dues or elaborate initiations! Just lots of fun earning funds for an important goal. Please join us! For more information call Roberta at 636-586-6439.
